It treats your current rating as the average of all your reviews and finds the smallest number of new 5-star reviews that lifts that average to your target. The formula is: reviews needed = current review count × (target rating − current rating) ÷ (5 − target rating), rounded up. For example, a 3.9 rating from 120 reviews needs 69 new 5-star reviews to reach 4.3.

Two things slow recovery down. The more reviews you already have, the less each new review moves the average. And the closer your target is to 5.0, the less each 5-star review adds, so the number required climbs quickly. A 5.0 average is only possible when every review is 5 stars, so once you have lower ratings, a benchmark between 4.3 and 4.6 is far more realistic.

Divide the number of 5-star reviews you need by the number of reviews you receive each week. If you need 69 reviews and receive around 15 a week, recovery takes about five weeks, provided no new low ratings come in. The calculator treats 4.6 and above as healthy, 4.0 to 4.5 as at risk and anything below 4.0 as high risk, and it uses 4.3 as the default target. In busy UAE delivery categories, customers compare listings side by side, so most operators aim to hold at least 4.3 to stay competitive.

Talabat, Deliveroo, Careem, Noon Food and Keeta do not publish the exact formulas behind the ratings they display, and a platform may give more weight to recent orders or only count a recent period. Treat the result as a minimum benchmark and track your live rating every week as new reviews come in.

Low ratings usually trace back to one or two repeat issues, so read your recent reviews for patterns before you push for more reviews.
